The average monthly temperature in March is expected to be within the climatic norm

In the coming March, the monthly amount of precipitation is expected to be around the norm, only in the far north — 130-170% of the long-term average values (norm 25-41 mm). This weather forecast for March is given by the Komi Central State Medical University.

The average monthly air temperature is expected to be within the climatic norm, in the far north — 1…2C higher (norm: in the southern regions -4…-7C, in the northern -8…-9C, in the extreme northeast -11…-14С).

There is a high probability that during the month weather conditions in our region will be formed under the alternating influence of cyclones and anticyclones, with some predominance of the latter. The temperature background will experience significant fluctuations.

It is expected that starting from the second five-day period in March until the end of the second ten-day period, the temperature background will be lower than the climatic norm and close to it. In the final days of March, most likely, the temperature background will be close to normal, and in some periods even higher.

In the middle of the first ten days of March, the abnormally warm weather will be interrupted by a cold snap, and until the end of the second ten days, the prevailing night temperatures will be -15…-22C, in the northern regions on some nights a drop to 30C and lower is possible. At the same time, some nights can be warmer, with frosts of 7…12C. During the day it will be noticeably warmer, within -5…-12C, only in the extreme northeast on some days no higher than -13…-15C is expected.

In the third ten days of March, daytime temperatures are predicted to be mainly within -1…-6C, while on some days it is possible to increase to +4…+9C in the main territory. The winter regime will remain on the rivers.
