In March 2026, precipitation is expected to be within normal limits (25-41 mm). Average temperatures are expected to be 2-4°C below normal (normal: -4-7°C in the southern regions, -8-9°C in the northern regions, and -11-14°C in the extreme northeast).
The first 10 days of the month are expected to be the coldest, as weather conditions will be influenced by an anticyclone from the Kara Sea. A dangerous natural phenomenon, «Abnormally Cold Weather,» is forecast for the north and east of the central regions. During this period, temperatures will be 10°C or more below normal.
Temperatures are expected to be generally cooler than normal in the second ten-day period, and close to normal in the third ten-day period.
According to preliminary estimates, temperatures will rise to +2-5°C in most areas only on a few days during the third ten-day period. Winter conditions will remain in place on the rivers.
