In Komi, precipitation will decrease in mid-February, and the temperature on some days will be below normal

In the coming February, the monthly precipitation amount will be 90-130% of the norm (norm: 25-37 mm). The average monthly air temperature is expected to be above the climatic norm by 1-3C (norm: -11…- 16C, in the far northeast -17…-19C). This forecast is given by the Komi CGMS.

It is expected that by the end of the first decade, weather conditions will be formed under the influence of cyclones. Warm weather is forecast to prevail with light, moderate snowfall on some days in the southern regions. The temperature background will mostly remain elevated relative to the climatic norm.

It is likely that starting from the second decade and until the end of the month, the territory of the Komi Republic will periodically fall under the influence of the Asian anticyclone. Precipitation will become less, while the temperature background is expected to be mostly close to the climatic norm, on some days it will be lowered relative to it. A significant decrease in the temperature background associated with the influx of Arctic air is most likely in the middle of the month — frost is expected to increase to -18…-25C, in the northern and central regions up to -32C. But with warming, which is most likely on some days from February 6 to February 15, an increase to a thaw is expected in the main territory.
